Denominator have had a fantastic and very busy first half of the year. We have been reading the Enid Blyton book series ‘The Magic Faraway Tree' in class. The students have been so engaged in the story that we have built a replica of the Faraway Tree in our classroom and it has been great to watch the student's imagination come to life.
In sport, we have been learning some new dance moves and how to play games fairly in the hall each week during term 2. During mathematics lessons we have been playing skip counting games to help improve our multiplication.
In geography, we have been learning about different natural environments in Australia. We have been doing research in the computer room and have presented our Powerpoint presentations to the class. We had a fantastic day on our excursion to Werrington Lakes last week. We learnt about local Aboriginal culture, how to be safe on a bush walk and how to create bush art without damaging nature in anyway. We got to see some interesting wildlife including two Cumberland snails and we spent time sketching interesting elements of Werrington lakes. Many students said it was the ‘best excursion ever'.
