Extra curricular actvities

PSSA -primary schools sports asssociation

At Cambridge Gardens Public School we participate in the Penrith PSSA winter competition in Soccer and Netball. The school also participates in Penrith PSSA Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country. Opportunities to try out for district teams in other sports are also offered.

PSSA sports

We have junior and senior PSSA soccer teams with 30 boys and girls in all. PSSA sport is on Fridays at Jamison Park. We leave school by bus  at 10:45 and return by 1:20. We share a bus with the netball teams. Parents and friends are encouraged to attend games. Apologies that we can't publish a draw. The PSSA convenor publishes a draw each week for only that week, due to constantly changing circumstances with schools going on school camps etc. Juniors always play at 11:20 and Seniors always play at 12:10.

All teams are performing really well. Teamwork is improving every week as combinations are worked out. We focus on teamwork rather than individual skills.

Scripture

At Cambridge Gardens Public School we offer specialised scripture classes. These classes take place at school each Thursday after recess.

Anglican scripture is conducted by representatives from the Anglican Church. In Anglican scripture  students participate in singing, dancing and role plays based on church teachings and bible readings.

Catholic scripture is conducted by representatives from St Joseph Church. Students are guided through discussions and activities that illustrate church teachings and bible readings in the context of students' lives.

Students who's families choose to opt out of scripture are fully supervised and partake in meaningful activities such as reading, study or homework.

Please feel free to contact the school if you would like any further information about scripture or non-scripture classes.

Please note- any requests for changes to students' scripture classes must be received in writing (email is fine) as per NSW Government legislation.
