Mrs Nelson and Mrs Hetherington are the classroom teachers of one of our superb Stage 3 classes. They are called class Numerator.
What a super busy and exciting term it has been! We have had a swimming carnival, school photos, cross country, an egg-stravaganza, a footy fever mufti day and an austism awareness day. Year 6 have put their orders in for the Year 6 T-shirt and the camp notes have already gone out! Plenty of students have trialled district sporting teams and 2 students in our class actually made it into a team. We have elected our SRC representatives, house captains and Library monitors. (And that is just the extra stuff!)
We have learnt how to write and advertise in a persuasive manner, designed PowerPoint quizzes, experimented with PowToon, learnt how to use mental strategies to quickly solve problems, learnt about taking risks and how to Bounce Back. We have really focussed on bullying and how to stop it! We read the book 'Wonder' and watched the movie- it was very thought provoking.
We have loved having Mrs Hetherington with us on a Tuesday and we wish her all the very best as she goes on maternity leave. Happy Holidays Numerator - see you next term! Mrs Nelson
OH MY! If we thought Term 1 was busy, it had nothing on this term. We have successfully completed NAPLAN for Year 5 and the Public Speaking competition where 2 of our students spoke wonderfully at assembly.
Numerator have been pushing themselves to achieve more in English and Maths and enjoy working in pairs and groups to accomplish this. Some fantastic achievements have been made in these areas.
We have had various sporting competitions, including Rugby League competitions, basketball, touch footy, the district Cross Country and Regional Cross country. Some of our students have danced at Synergy and are in the group of students attending the OPERA HOUSE later in the year (can you believe that?).
We have had constable Jack come to talk to us about Cyber safety and she wasn't alone... We had visits from Panthers players including James Fisher-Harris, Xavier (the graffiti guy), Tears in the Jungle and most recently, Snake Tails. With so much going on, we have remained calm, focussed and caring. We pride ourselves on caring for each other in the room and being understanding of each other's differences.
Mrs Hetherington welcomed her baby girl into the world and we welcomed Mrs Fitzgerald into our classroom. We love our future focussed furniture and we love having fun.
Looking forward to another packed term! Have a great break Numerator - Mrs Nelson
