Miss Mulock is teaching our wonderful Stage 3 students in 2018. She teaches Class Mobius.
This term, Mobius have been learning all about the critically endangered orangutans in Sumatra and Borneo. We have been reading a book called ‘Tears in the Jungle', which was written by two Australian boys, Daniel and William. The book is all about their quest to save the orangutans and their habitat. In Week 6 Cambridge Gardens Public School were lucky enough to have a visit from Daniel and William for a ‘Tears in the Jungle' Presentation. The boys, now aged 21 and 23, discussed how they have raised over $850,000 and have a goal of raising 1 MILLION dollars!
Here we are, posing in front of the jungle themed wall in our classroom, holding some of the merchandise purchased from Daniel and William. All the proceeds go directly towards the fight to save the orangutans. We even received our own school gift from Daniel and William, if you look closely you will see him swinging from above in the top right of the photo.
So far this term, Mobius have had an excellent time participating in some really great activities! We were lucky enough to get to know Kindergarten students in Velocity class. Not only have they visited our classroom to introduce themselves, but since then we have joined Velocity in some games including Teepee's and Indians.
Another great moment from this term has to be our participation in Clean Up Australia Day. Our class was designated with areas around the school to help clean. It was our job to ensure there was no rubbish left!
Every morning after Crunch 'n' Sip we have our Literacy Group sessions. During this time we partake in literacy based activities and games such as Noun, Verb and Adjective Uno, iPad word hunters, weekly spelling sheets, story starters, inference and comprehension cards and a lot of reading!
