My goodness how the year is flying, Class Saxon has had a cracking start to Term 2! We have proudly claimed the Mathletics trophy at our first Infants Assembly. There are 24 amazing students in Saxon who have been working hard to develop our fabulous five L’s of listening. We have loved working with our year six buddies and enjoy seeing them in the playground at recess and lunch times. At the end of Term 1 we had a wonderful afternoon sharing our learning space and some activities with our parents, grandparents or carers. We can’t wait to have you back to see us when we reach 100 days of Kindergarten later this term.
In English lessons this term we have been learning many graphemes (letters) and their phonemes (sounds) as well as our heart (High frequency) words. Saxon are becoming experts at logging in to Reading Eggs and enjoy challenging themselves with the activities. In maths we have learnt about patterns and length and are practising counting forwards and backwards. This term in science we are looking at life cycles and will be growing our own grassy heads. We are also fortunate to have the fabulous Mrs Ivimey as the Student Learning Support Officer supporting us in our classroom each morning.
