Class Apollo have been aiming for the moon this year! We are working hard to reach our learning goals and make the most of year 1. We have been so lucky to have our families visit our classroom twice already to share all the fun learning we have been experiencing.
This term we are learning to write informative texts about animals. We love learning interesting, new facts about a variety of animals. Our favourite animal facts learnt so far are that pythons are restrictors and tigers are the largest big cat in the world! We are enjoying reading our decodable texts and are working hard to become fluent readers.
In maths we are learning that mathematicians work well by listening, asking questions, and sharing our reasoning. Currently, we are exploring how to measure the length of different objects by making sure there are no gaps, no overlaps, and beginning our measuring at the start of the object.
Last term, we designed and created a snail shack for snails to live in. We currently have four happy residents that we get to care for and observe.
Class Apollo share a love for creativity and have been experimenting with many techniques during visual arts including blending, sponging, mixing, and contrasting colours.
We love having fun in Class Apollo and cannot wait to see what other exciting things are in store for us this year!
